Description

Bulk supply of potassium acetate based de-icing/anti-icing fluid in the form of a concentrated liquid set forth in the latest edition FAA approved specification SAE AMS 1435 (“The Fluid”). Requirements are, but not limited to the following:

1. 1. The Fluid shall be a minimum 50% potassium acetate by weight with a freeze point lower than +6o F (-14.5oC) when diluted 50/50 by weight;
  2. The Fluid shall not contain urea, ethylene or propylene glycol;
  3. The Fluid density shall be 10.68 pounds/U.S. gallon (1.28kg/l) at 68°F (20°C); the pH shall be in the range 7.0 to 11.5; and
  4. For long-term storage reasons, The Fluid shall be stable and shall not separate in storage.

The contract period will be for twelve (12) months beginning October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024.

The Greater Rockford Airport Authority used 61,500 gallons of product during the winter of 2022-23, and the same amount during the winter of 2021/22. 105,653 gallons were used during the winter of 2020/2120, 101,367 gallons were used during the winter of 2019/20. This is not to be construed as any type of commitment on the Authority’s behalf and shall have the flexibility of ordering more or less of the quantities stated above.
