The City of Peoria (City) is soliciting proposals from experienced and qualified vendors for the purpose of providing a turn-key solution to provide non-emergency medical (Non-EMS) billing and collection services. The overall goal is to maximize City revenues associated with the reimbursement of Non-EMS services by taking advantage of the specialized knowledge and services of an outside vendor.
The purpose of this initiative is to take advantage of currently available automated billingprocedures and processes, including but not limited to filing with private insurance carriers, processing payment of claims, account processing including collection services, providing customer service, and electronic data communications.
The qualified proposer(s) is/are to provide a turn-key solution that is seamless to the customer, utilizes automated billing and payment technology, and customer service practices while demonstrating compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements for privacy, security, and electronic data transmission standards.
The Fire Department is developing sources of revenue to offset a portion of the expensesassociated with providing Non-EMS services. The regulations associated with the reimbursement of these expenses is complicated and constantly changing.
