23-047 - Consultant for Fabulous Fox! Water Trail Access Infrastructure Project

Kane County is seeking qualifications from experienced and qualified consulting firms to assist the County with the design and construction of new and upgraded water trail access infrastructure to support the further development of the Fabulous Fox! Water Trail in Kane County.  In June 2023, the Fabulous Fox! Water Trail was designated as a National Water Trail by the National Park Service.  The water trail is 158 miles in length through Wisconsin and Illinois with over 70 current access points of varying levels of accessibility. Kane County contains 36 miles of the water trail through a heavily developed corridor and anticipates an   increase in visitors seeking to utilize the water trail.  The consultant team selected will assist the County with identification of priority access sites to be built or upgraded, the development of engineering plans and obtaining the required permit approvals, and provide construction observation during the construction phase.
