1. The Polk County 911 Service Board in Iowa, is soliciting proposals from firms with relevant experience to create a common governance amongst the participatory entities with disparate policies, procedures and identify individuals and /or positions to fill such roles. The firm will conduct a needs assessment and needs analysis of three disparate Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) and their users in order to investigate the feasibility of a common Computer Aided Dispatch system for emergency responders and emergency communications centers serving the Des Moines Metro area. The firm must propose an integrated solution that will comply with current and foreseeable future needs, use industry best practices in formulating recommendations, capture measurable data for performance, better equip first responders with relevant information, and reduce response times. Once consensus is built around an integrated solution, the vendor will provide input in drafting an RFP, assist in selecting the vendor and purchasing the solution, and the implementation process.
