Audubon Commission invites bids from qualified licensed general contractors to renovate and alter the existing Riverview known as “The Fly” which will include A NEW RESTROOM BUILDING TO REPLACE AN EXISTING RESTROOM STRUCTURE, REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT, NEW DRINKING FOUNTAINS, NEW PICNIC TABLES, COSMETIC REPAIRS TO THE EXISTING OVERLOOK PAVILLIONS, AND SITE LANDSCAPING specified in the Manning, APC Drawings No. G0- E600 dated (06-28-24), located at Audubon Zoo/Park, 6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70118. Bids are due on or before February 13, 2025, at 1 pm. A bid bond will be required, per the contract documents, and should be uploaded with the rest of the required Bid Documents. Bonds shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best’s Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders’ surplus as shown in the A.M. Best’s Key Rating Guide, or by an insurance company that is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana Residents and is licensed to write surety bonds. The construction period begins when a notice to proceed is issued after the contract is signed; the Liquidated Damages are one thousand ($1000.00) dollars per day. The construction period is 180 calendar days. Contractor Licensing, the State of Louisiana public bid laws, LA Revised Statutes Sections 37 and 38, apply to the award of this Contract. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed, under the laws of the State of Louisiana, for the classification of “Building Construction”. This procurement is undertaken pursuant to LRS 38:2212 et seq. The provisions of these statues shall govern and control all procurement hereunder notwithstanding any provisions herein to the contrary. The Contractor shall begin procurement of materials within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Diverse Contractors are encouraged to submit bids.
