The Montgomery County, Maryland, Department of General Services, Division of Building Design and Construction intends to use this solicitation to select and enter into a contract with a contractor who has experience in design and rehabilitation/restoration of historic masonry facilities similar in type and design as Montgomery County’s Red Brick COURTHOUSE, located at 29 Courthouse Sq, Rockville, MD 20850.
Contract resulting from this solicitation will provide for design build including (but not limited to) site work, utilities, structural systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, life safety systems, selective demolition, grading, interior renovations, thermal envelope, masonry installation, repair, and rehabilitation, roofing and sheet metal, and finishes.
The selected contractor must self-perform a minimum of 15% of the physical construction work.
Design/Construction of the Work must meet the requirements of the US Secretary of the Interior Standards for Repair, Rehabilitation, and Restoration, Maryland Historic Trust, Montgomery County Historical Society, Peerless Rockville, and the City of Rockville Permitting regulations. In addition, the Contractor will be required to comply with the Contract requirements of a Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule and monthly updates, total building system commissioning, and a Contractor Quality Control program.
