Description

The Town of West Springfield Department of Public Works is inviting bids from qualified Contractors to provide Hot Mix Asphalt Paving and Related Work services on various streets in West Springfield, MA as part of its yearly Roadway Maintenance Program. There will be one contract awarded as part of this IFB.
Sealed Bid Proposals will be received at the preceding address until 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Immediately following that time will be publicly opened. Proposers shall submit One (1) original and One(1) copy of the bid. The outside of the sealed envelope should clearly read: “IFB 21-0019 HOT MIX ASPHALT PAVING AND RELATED WORK BID”. In addition, prospective bidders have the opportunity to submit their bids electronically via BidNetDirect. There is also a special mailbox set up in the lobby of the Town Hall labeled “bids” for bidders who wish to physically drop off their bids. No bids will be accepted after the above stated date and time.

Additional Bidding Instructions

Bidders must be pre-qualified with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. It is anticipated that the MassDOT pre-qualification category will be Highway Construction. If this is changed, registered bidders will be notified by published addenda.
A Payment Bond, in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price will be required of the Successful Bidder.
There are liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 per day per calendar day after August 15, 2021 for completion of a portion of the work.
