The Town of West Springfield, Department of Public Works, invites sealed bids for the sale of surplus equipment. Bids will be received in the J. Edward Christian Municipal Office Building, Department of Public Works, 26 Central Street, West Springfield, MA until Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids must be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope "SURPLUS EQUIPMENT BID 2022."

All items are located at the Department of Public Works Operations Center located at 430 Westfield Street (Route 20), West Springfield, MA and may be viewed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Viewing will start on Monday, May 9, 2022 and conclude on Friday, May 13, 2022. All interested parties must stop at the office of the Deputy Director of Operations before viewing equipment.

Additional Bidding Instructions

Winners of bids will be notified by 3:00 pm on Friday, May 20, 2022. Payment, in the form of a cashiers’ check made payable to the Town of West Springfield, must be made within 3 business days of the notice of award. No items may be picked up if payment has not been made. All equipment must be picked up by Friday, June 10, 2022. The Bidder is responsible for all efforts needed to remove items from Town property. The Town will not furnish mechanical repair assistance of any kind or provide transport.
The Town of West Springfield reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to award parts of the bid to separate bidders, and to waive any informalities in bidding if it appears to be in the public interest to do so.
