ARC08222024 - Reducing Runoff in the Rouge River- Southfield Rain Gardens

The Alliance of Rouge Communities (ARC) is accepting proposals for professional installation of two
(2) rain gardens at Civic Center Park and Mary Thompson Farm in Southfield, MI. This work is part of
a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative project through the U.S. Forest Service: Reducing Runoff in the Rouge
River Area of Concern, and includes the following activities:
Civic Center
- Excavation and construction of a rain garden to capture runoff from a parking lot.
- Placement of rain garden soil materials.
- Purchase of native plant species for the rain garden area (to be installed by volunteers/others).
- All other work outlined in the plans.
Mary Thompson Farm
- Excavation and construction of a rain garden to capture roof runoff from an existing barn.
- Connections to existing downspouts on barn to direct roof flow to the rain garden area.
- Purchase of native plant species for the rain garden (to be installed by volunteers/others).
- All other work outlined in the plans
