The Bowers Farm Winter Park is located at the east end of the 93-acre Charles L. Bowers Farm property, 1219 E. Square Lake Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304, just off the Interstate 75 Adams Road Exit 74. The Bowers Farm Winter Park houses a warming building, large gathering deck, 40’ X 60’ framed tent structure, restrooms, kitchen, food/concession area, office, garages, and fire pits.
Bowers School Farm, as part of the Bloomfield Hills Schools, has hosted Winter Park for the past few years which also features sledding/tubing, concessions, and ice skating depending on the weather. Last year, Winter Park was expanded to create a lighted tubing hill experience used by visitors through ticket purchases. Four lanes and 70 tubes sold out with ticketed admissions every hour. Capacity was limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Winter Park has periodically provided an ice rink contingent on weather conditions, allowing visitors to skate with their own equipment. Winter Park opened the weekend after New Year’s Day and remained open until the end of February. More than 10,000 participated in 2021.
In the past, the Farm has established an ice rink in a recessed area lined with plastic and has allowed skating depending on weather. Visitors have brought their own skates.
