Summary of Specifications:
In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for structure rehabilitation must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening. The qualifications for the general contractor and all subcontractors to be used on the project will be reviewed on the basis of the proposed bidder’s past performance on work of a similar nature for Clinton Township and other owners. The Contractor shall furnish all materials and provide all labor and equipment necessary and incidental to complete the Work as set forth in this invitation in accordance with the Charter Township of Clinton standards. These principal items include, but are not limited to: 1. Shotcrete repair of approximately 587 vertical feet of sanitary manholes with variable diameter and traffic control within Barclay Estates. 2. Shotcrete repair of approximately 247 vertical feet of sanitary manholes with variable diameter and traffic control generally located on Lipke Road, between 15 Mile and Laurel Road. Construction plans and specifications will be available on the internet through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN - www.govbids.com) or can be viewed or obtained at the office of ARC, 1009 West Maple Road, Clawson, MI 48017 after 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 5th, 2014. Hard copies can be obtained from ARC for a cost of $16.77 per copy. Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Charter Township of Clinton for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid price. An Insurance Acord meeting the requirements in the bid documents shall be submitted by all bidders. The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond, and labor and material bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price, and maintenance and guarantee bond of 50% for two years of the final contract price. The cost of the bonds will be paid by the accepted bidder. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner and their respective Employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Charter Township of Clinton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, and award either, both or neither of the two projects contained in this request to a single or multiple contractors when such action is in the interest of the Charter Township of Clinton, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder. Contractor should also note that the project will be constructed in two separate areas, Barclay Estates Subdivision and on Lipke Road, between 15 Mile Road and Laurel Road. The project shall commence immediately following a notice of award per these contract documents. This project shall be substantially completed, including restoration, by November 15, 2014 or be subject to liquidated damages.
