In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for open cut repairs for sanitary sewers and sanitary sewer cleaning and televising must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening. For this particular project, prequalification packages must be received by the Water & Sewer Division no later than 5 business days prior to the bid opening. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The approximate quantities involved in this work are as follows:
Remove and Replace 8” Pipe 40 FT
Remove and Replace 10” Pipe 80 FT
Install 60” dia. Manhole 1 EA
Pavement Removal and Replacement(Asphalt and Concrete) 250 SY
together with related work as well as restoration.

BID SECURITY
Bids must be submitted on the forms furnished by the Township Clerk or the Township Engineers in a sealed envelope marked:

2020 SEWER POINT REPAIRS
A certified check, bank draft, or satisfactory bid bond, executed by the bidder and a surety company, payable to Clinton Township, in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount, shall be submitted with each bid.
BONDS AND INSURANCE
The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, and Maintenance and Guarantee Bond of 100% for two years of the Final Contract Price. The cost of the bonds will be paid by the accepted bidder.
WITHDRAWAL OF BIDS
No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after receipt of bids.
AWARD OF CONTRACT
The Charter Township of Clinton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to award the agreement to other than the low proposal, to negotiate the terms and conditions of all and any part of the bids, to waive irregularities and/or formalities, and in general to make award in the manner as determined to be in the Township’s best interest and its sole discretion.
Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the owner, engineer, and their respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid.
The project shall commence immediately following a notice to proceed per these contract documents. This project shall be substantially completed within (60) days of said time.
