Summary of Specifications:
In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for wastewater pump station construction must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening. The qualifications for the general contractor and all subcontractors to be used on the project will be reviewed on the basis of the proposed bidder’s past performance on work of a similar nature for Clinton Township and other owners. The Contractor shall furnish all materials, provide all labor and equipment necessary and incidental to complete the Work as set forth in this invitation in accordance with the Charter Township of Clinton standards. These principal items include, but are not limited to: 1. Replacement and relocation of the pump station control panel. 2. New Variable Frequency Drive for pump station. 3. Installation of new natural gas standby Generator, concrete Generator Pad and Automatic Transfer Switch. 4. Furnish temporary bypass pumping system for all influent wastewater flows during pump, valve and fitting replacement. 5. Installation of two – 25 HP (max) dry pit Flygt Model NT 3171 LT3 ~ 615 wastewater pumps each capable of delivering 2,400 GPM with a TDH of 19.0 ft. 6. Replacement of existing pump station valves and fittings. 7. Installation of approximately 130 SY of new concrete pavement. 8. Installation of storm drainage improvements around pump station. 9. Corrosion control improvements to existing pump station. 10. Control Panel components shall be compatible with Clinton Township SCADA telemetry. Construction plans and specifications will be available on the internet through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN - www.govbids.com) or can be viewed at the office of Giffels-Webster Engineers, 6303 26 Mile Road Suite 100, Washington, MI 48094 after 9:00 AM on Monday, September 12, 2016. Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Charter Township of Clinton for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid price. An Insurance Acord meeting the requirements in the bid documents shall be submitted by all bidders. The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond, and labor and material bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price, and maintenance and guarantee bond of 50% for two years of the final contract price. The cost of the bonds will be paid by the accepted bidder. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner and their respective Employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Charter Township of Clinton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities, therein when such waiver is in the interest of the Clinton Township, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder. Bids shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days. The project shall commence immediately following a notice of award per these contract documents.
