The work primarily consists of:
• 757 SY of hot-mixed asphalt pavement for new 10-foot wide barrier-free pathway (north side of soccer field) • Miscellaneous site restoration and grading. • Optional bid for 648 SY of hot-mixed asphalt pavement for new 10-foot wide barrier-free pathway (south side of soccer field)
Specifications and plans will be available at the office of Giffels Webster, 6303 26 Mile Road, Suite 100, Washington Township, Michigan 48094 after 3:00 P.M., Friday, February 27, 2015 and on MITN per CDBG requirements. Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Charter Township of Clinton for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bidder’s maximum bid price.
The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, and Maintenance and Guarantee Bond of 50% for two years of the Final Contract Price. The cost of the bonds will be paid by the accepted bidder.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin, in accordance with Executive Order 11246 Equal Employment Opportunity and Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to ensure Equal Employment Opportunity, and that the contractor will comply with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended.
The Contractor and subcontractor must comply with the Davis Bacon Act July 2, 1964 (Title 40§ 276A). The Equal Employment Opportunity Act September 28, 1965 No. 11246, all United States Department of Labor Regulations and standards Title 29, 1, 3 and 5, and Title 18, U.S. C., Section 874 known as the “Anti-Kickback Act”, and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the owner, engineer, and their respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid.
The Charter Township of Clinton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities, therein when such waiver is in the interest of the Clinton Township, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder.
Bids shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days.
