ZONE 8 and 10 SANITARY SEWER OPEN CUT POINT REPAIRS - CLINTON TOWNSHIP ZONE 8 and 10 SANITARY SEWER OPEN CUT POINT REPAIRS

In order to provide Clinton Township with contractors and subcontractors who will carry out the work in a timely and satisfactory manner, an approved prequalification for sanitary sewer construction in an existing residential or commercially developed area must be on file with the Township prior to the bid opening. The qualifications for the general contractor and all subcontractors to be used on the project will be reviewed on the basis of the proposed bidder’s past performance on work of a similar nature for Clinton Township and other owners. Prequalification packages must be received by the Water & Sewer Division no later than 5 business days prior to the bid opening.  Contact Giffels Webster to obtain submittal requirements for all prequalification categories.
 
The Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary and incidental to complete the Work as set forth in this invitation in accordance with the Charter Township of Clinton standards.  These principal items include, but are not limited to:
 

1. Open cut point repair of varying sizes of sanitary sewer at 6 different locations.
2. Open cut & trenchless pipe replacement for sanitary sewer at Cass Ave. & Groesbeck Hwy.
3. Disconnection of storm sewer from sanitary sewer.  Approximately 300 lineal feet of new storm sewer and related drainage improvements at Hillcrest and Moravian.
4. Installation of new manholes at Interstate 94 Ramp and at 36640 Gratiot Avenue.
5. Restoration of all disturbed areas to include pavement, sidewalks, and curbs.
6. Other miscellaneous work-related items.   
   Construction plans and specifications can also be viewed online through BidNet (formerly the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network) by 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.  
    
   Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Charter Township of Clinton for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid price.  An Insurance Acord meeting the requirements herein shall be submitted by all bidders.
    
   The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond, and labor and material bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price, and maintenance and guarantee bond of 50% for two years of the final contract price.  The cost of the bonds will be paid by the accepted bidder.
    
   Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner and their respective Employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid.  The Charter Township of Clinton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to award the agreement to other than the low proposal, to negotiate the terms and conditions of all and any part of the bids, to waive irregularities and/or formalities, and in general to make award in the manner as determined to be in the Township’s best interest and its sole discretion.  Please contact Giffels Webster at (586) 781-8950 ext. 327 for any specific questions regarding this request for proposals.    The project shall commence immediately following a notice to proceed per these contract documents. All projects shall be substantially complete within 90 days following the notice to proceed.
