Summary of Specifications:
The Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary and incidental to complete the Work as set forth in this invitation in accordance with the Charter Township of Clinton and all other applicable standards. These principal items generally include, but are not limited to: 1. Removal of existing 2,000 gallon underground diesel storage tank and installation of a 2,000 gallon above ground diesel storage tank with an exterior secondary containment unit. Owner is requesting bid options for a Fireguard tank meeting UL-2085 requirements and a double wall steel AST meeting UL-142 requirements. Alternate bid items also include 1,000 gallon and 1,500 gallon AST options for each tank type. Bidder must provide pricing for all presented options to be considered a responsive bid. 2. Removal of existing pumps an all appurtenances and installation of new fuel pumps and appurtenances. 3. Relocation of an existing light pole. Two new light fixtures are to be LED and located at the direction of the Fire Department. 4. Removal & replacement of concrete pavement. 5. All associated restoration required following construction. Selected contractor shall submit detailed shop drawings for all equipment meeting the criteria specified herein. Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all required permits for construction and coordinating all activities with the Township, gas provider and private utility companies throughout the duration of the project. Bidders must be a licensed contractor and demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years experience supplying and installing related equipment. Submitted bids shall include all costs associated with a complete and operational installation. Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Charter Township of Clinton for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid price. An Insurance Acord meeting the requirements herein shall be submitted by all bidders. The accepted bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond, and labor and material bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price, and maintenance and guarantee bond of 50% for two years of the final contract price. The cost of the bonds will be paid by the accepted bidder. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner and their respective Employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Charter Township of Clinton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to award the agreement to other than the low proposal, to negotiate the terms and conditions of all and any part of the bids, to waive irregularities and/or formalities, and in general to make award in the manner as determined to be in the Township’s best interest and its sole discretion. The project shall commence immediately following a notice to proceed per these contract documents. This project shall be substantially completed within thirty (30) days of said time.
