OAKLAND COUNTY COOPERATIVE INVASIVE SPECIES MANAGEMENT AREA
Request for Qualified Contractors – Invasive Plant Species Control Services
Member organizations with the Oakland County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (OC CISMA) are seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive invasive species control services for priority invasive plant species in 2017 and 2018 at numerous sites within Oakland County. These sites are comprised of road rights-of-way, public land, nature preserves, private lands and other settings. Furthermore, these sites contain infestations of invasive species that have been identified as priorities for survey or treatment due to the threat to wildlife habitat and other economic, environmental and social factors. Invasive species control is an integral component of habitat management within Oakland County, part of a regional effort through the OC CISMA, and supported by funding through the Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program, Road Commission of Oakland County, and other member organizations of the OC CISMA.
Multiple Qualified Contractors may be selected based on their work specialization and capacity. Bidders should indicate their capacity to complete invasive species control projects using various techniques and equipment, and any specialization for small or large projects that would deliver increased efficiency and lower cost while performing high quality work.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 8:30 am at the Waterford Township Fire Station, 2495 Crescent Lake Road, Waterford Township, MI 48329. Pre-bid meeting is optional, but all prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting.
