The Charter Township of Orion (population of approximately 37,945 residents) located in northern Oakland County in southeast Michigan is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking experienced planning consultants to comprehensively support the Planning and Zoning Department staff in the review of development applications, preparation of staff reports, and providing recommendations for the Township’s Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Board of Trustees. The selected firm will work proactively with the Township and appropriate boards and commissions, as required, to ensure the Township utilizes best practices and good planning practices in its various land use procedures and controls.
The firm will furnish all required labor, materials, supplies, and travel required in connection with projects. The Township expects that the project staff will include individuals with expertise in the skill set of, but not limited to, development plan reviews (see #6 in Scope of Work), zoning regulations preparation, and public communication.
