ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF SHELBY CHERRY CREEK CONDOMINIUMS SANITARY SEWER AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS SAD NO. 32-5-2009 AEW NO. 0132-0770 Receipt of Bids The Charter Township of Shelby will receive sealed bids until 10:00 A.M., local time on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the offices of the Township Clerk, Charter Township of Shelby, 52700 Van Dyke Avenue, Shelby Township, Michigan 48316 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Description of Work The approximate quantities of work involved for this project are as follows: 8” Sanitary Sewer 545 LF 6” Sanitary Sewer 560 LF 4’ Sanitary Sewer Manhole 4 EA 12” Storm Sewer 220 LF 8” Storm Sewer 45 LF 6” Storm Sewer 1,520 LF 2’ Storm Sewer Manhole 2 EA 4’ Storm Sewer Manhole 37 EA 4’ Storm Sewer Catch Basin 2 EA Outlet control Structure 2 EA and related appurtenances as well as clean-up and restoration. Plans and Specifications Plans and specifications are on file and copies may be secured on or after Wednesday, October 28, 2009 after 1:00 P.M., at the offices of Anderson, Eckstein and Westrick, Inc., 51301 Schoenherr Road, Shelby Township, Michigan 48315. A fee of twenty five dollars ($25.00) will be required for each set of proposed plans and specifications and will not be refunded. A mailing fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) to cover handling and postage will be charged to anyone wishing to receive the plans and specifications via standard shipping services. Specifications and plans are also on file for viewing at the offices of the Charter Township of Shelby, 52700 Van Dyke Avenue, Shelby Township, Michigan 48316. Bid Security A certified check, bank draft or satisfactory bid bond, executed by the bidder and a surety company, payable to the Charter Township of Shelby in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid. A. -2 Withdrawal of Bids No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after receipt of bids. This time frame may be adjusted through mutual agreement between the Owner and the Contractor. Award of Contract The Charter Township of Shelby will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder; however, it reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, maintenance and guarantee, labor and material bonds and insurance certificates.
