HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP SENIOR CENTER ANNEX REROOF BID SPECS
APPLICATION
Highland Township is accepting sealed bids for a PARTIAL reroof of our Senior Center Annex located at 205 W. Livingston Rd, Highland, MI 48357. The designated area is approximately 4000 sq. ft. and includes the shingles on the box out window on the south end of the building.
This is a Federally Funded project. The Contractor and Subcontractors on this project must comply with HUD contract provisions 24CFR part 85.36(i), the Davis-Bacon Act, Nondiscrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Section 3 requirements, Anti-Kickback Act, Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act and Department of Labor Standards and Regulations as set forth in the Contract Bid Documents. Removal
Remove and dispose of all shingles on designated roof area
Remove and dispose of all existing sheeting on designated roof area
Waterproofing Membrane
Install Ice and Water Shield 2 rows up from eave
Apply membrane in strict accordance with manufacturer’s written literature and recommendations
Underlayment
Install new 4 ply fir, 1/2’’ CDX on designated roof area
Lay one layer of synthetic felt horizontally over designated roof area, lapping each house over lower course 2’’ minimum at horizontal joints, and 4’’ side lap at joints
Lap synthetic felt 6’’ from both sides over hips and ridges
Secure underlayment to deck with sufficient fasteners to hold in place until shingles are applied
Nail metal drip along the bottom edge of the eaves before felt is laid and to the sides of the rake after the felt is laid
Asphalt Shingles
Color of asphalt shingles should match existing and will be finalized by Supervisor
Asphalt shingles shall be installed according to manufacturer’s instructions
Flashing and rubber boots
Install flashing or rubber boots around all roof protrusions as required to provide a water tight
roof
Ridge Vents
Remove existing roof vents and replace with ridge vents
Install ridge vents in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations
Clean Up
Remove all shingle debris from site Clean all gutters and downspouts
