The City of Ann Arbor is seeking professional services from a Firm or Firms for as-needed
easement and right of way acquisition services. Typically, a City Project
Manager will identify the need for such services in the course of engineering design
of City capital improvements projects for water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, or
roadway improvements. The property rights needed may be either permanent or
temporary.
Acquisition services may also involve services related to assisting the City with
obtaining easements or rights of way for existing utilities or streets where the City’s
rights to maintain its facilities are not clearly documented, or for other similar needed
services.
Where state or federal funds are part of a project’s funding, procedures for acquiring
rights of way and easements must comply with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and
Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 as amended and MDOT’s Acquisition
and Relocation Procedure Manual.
The City is seeking these as-needed services for a one-year period, with the City
reserving an option to extend the contract term for up to two additional one-year
periods. The City Engineer or his designee will oversee the direction and quality of
work of this Firm.
