The City of Ann Arbor is seeking qualified Executive Search firms who specialize in the placement of Parks and Recreation positions. The chosen firm will provide Executive Search and Recruitment Services in the recruitment of the City of Ann Arbor’s Parks and Recreation Services Manager.
The Parks and Recreation Manager hired will provide strategic and operational leadership and direction for a dynamic and diverse Ann Arbor Parks System. This leadership position will oversee 35 full-time staff and up to 400 temporary staff. With over 2,200 acres of park land with 161 parks in the City of Ann Arbor, the park system includes award winning recreation facilities including 4 pools, 2 golf courses, 2 hockey rinks, event rental facilities and shelters, a Senior Center, 2 Community Centers, a Farmers Market that welcomes over a million visitors annually, an award-winning skatepark designed by Tony Hawk, the largest boat livery operation in the State of Michigan, and an extensive neighborhood park system with over 80 playgrounds. The department is also responsible for park planning, park forestry, programming, a robust volunteer program, and a Natural Area Preservation team.
To be eligible for consideration, the proposing firm must demonstrate that it, or the principal(s) assigned to the project have successfully completed similar services to those specified in the Scope of Services section of this RFP, with institutions similar in size and complexity to the City of Ann Arbor, and have the qualifications outlined therein.
