Summary of Specifications:
The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a firm to provide materials testing and inspection services for the Huron Parkway-Nixon Road Improvement Project, in accordance with the City of Ann Arbor Public Services Department Standard Specifications and the Michigan Department of Transportation 2003 Standard Specifications for Construction. The project is a Local Agency Programs (LAP) Project encompassing 0.55 miles of road improvements in the City of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County. The project includes the construction of an HMA roundabout at the intersection of Huron Pkwy. and Nixon Rd. The project also includes HMA road reconstruction on Nixon Rd. from Plymouth Rd. to 300’ north of Huron Pkwy. and on Huron Pkwy. from 300’ west of Nixon Rd. to 400’ east of Nixon Rd. Other major items of work include pavement removal, concrete curb and gutter, stamped colored concrete pavement, textured and colored HMA pavement, concrete sidewalk and sidewalk ramps, storm sewer, earth excavation and embankment, landscaping improvements and streetlights. Construction is expected to begin in mid April 2009 and be completed by August 2009.
