21-22 - Occupational Health and Safety Consultant

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a qualified consultant that will complete specific occupational health and safety (OHS) tasks as described below and provide appropriate training at the discretion of the City of Ann Arbor Safety Unit that is compliant with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The consultant may also assist with program development, safety inspections/audits and generation of work procedures.  The scope of the services that may be requested includes:
1. Design and implement OHS trainings at the discretion of the City Safety Unit.

Topics may include:
a. Aerial Work Platforms
b. Confined Space Entry
c. Electrical Safety
d. Excavation/Trenching
e. Fall Protection
f. Lock-out/Tag-out
g. Use of Powered Industrial Trucks

2. Program Development, safety inspections/audits and generation of work
procedures
a. The consultant’s main objective will be to generate a new electrical safety
program; however, the consultant may be tasked with other projects.
b. Work with various City of Ann Arbor’s units to determine compliance with
NFPA 70E requirements.
c. Create or facilitate the creation of written work plans when required.

The city seeks to issue a contract with a three-year duration with the option for a two-year
renewal.
