Summary of Specifications:
Sealed proposals endorsed “2009 Paving Program - Contract #1-09(AC)” will be received from contractors by the City of Birmingham, at the office of the City Clerk, located at 151 Martin Street, Birmingham, Michigan, until 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. The proposals will be publicly read aloud at that time.
The project will include installation of new public water main, new concrete pavement, and asphalt resurfacing on three secondary and local streets within the City of Birmingham. Approximate quantities are as follows: 2,700 l.ft. of 8” and 12” water main, 6,200 sq.yd. of concrete pavement, 17,200 sq.yd. of cold milling, and 2,700 tons of asphalt, plus other work to make a complete project.
Plans and specifications for the project may be obtained from the City’s Engineering Department, (248) 530-1840, located on the second floor of City Hall, beginning Monday, March 30, 2009, for a non-refundable fee of $40.00 if picked up directly, or $50.00 if mailed. Plans and specifications may also be sent in pdf format by email or mailed on disc for $10.00. Payment shall be in the form of a check made payable to the City of Birmingham, which must be received prior to mailing of plans and specifications. Overnight delivery will be accommodated provided arrangements are made for the shipping cost to be paid through the purchaser’s account.
