The purpose of this RFP is to request sealed bid proposals from qualified parties presenting their qualifications for the assessment of its water distribution system valves 12-inch diameter or less installed before the year 2000 and assessment of its hydrants with their auxiliary valve that were installed before the year 2000

One (1) original and one (1) copy of the proposal shall be submitted. The proposal should be firmly sealed in an envelope, which shall be clearly marked on the outside, “2024 VALVE & HYDRANT ASSESSMENT PROGRAM”. Any proposal received after the due date cannot be accepted and will be rejected and returned, unopened, to the proposer. Proposer may submit more than one proposal provided each proposal meets the functional requirements.
The major items of work include the inspection, condition assessment and documentation of water distribution system valves, hydrants, and hydrant auxiliary valves that are owned, operated, and maintained by the City of Birmingham installed before the year 2000. The work includes locating of assets, identification of assets if necessary, clearing access to assets, inspection of assets, documentation of all condition assessment work completed, recommendation for necessary repairs, submission of all documentation in a database format that conforms to City schemas and data standards, and submittal of a final project report.
