Description

The City of Birmingham is seeking quotes to install artificial surfacing in the playground use zone of Adams Park, located at 1051 Oakland Ave, Birmingham, MI 48009. The City will provide a design plan for the desired area. The area will be approximately 625 square feet and must serve a fall height of 8 feet. The contractor will be responsible for the following.
Scope of Work:

Preparing the area
Removing unwanted materials
Securing the work zone
Installing the base material selected by the City (either stone or concrete)
Installing the artificial surface
Cleaning and restoring the work zone

American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Reference Standards:

ASTM F1292- Standard Specification for Impact Attenuation of Surfacing Materials Within the Use Zone of Playground Equipment
ASTM F1951- Standard Specification for Determination of Accessibility of Surface Systems Under and Around Playground Equipment
ASTM F2223- Standard Guide for ASTM Standards on Playground Surfacing
ASTM F2479- Standard Guide for Specification, Purchase, Installation and Maintenance of Poured-In-Place Playground Surfacing

The City will accept quotes that show multiple options with price variations, such as the choice of color for the pour-in-place rubber surface or material of the base layer (e.g., stone or concrete). The project must be completed in a 4-week timeframe before November 1st, 2025. This project will require a signed agreement between the City and the Contractor.
