Sealed proposals endorsed “ARLINGTON ROAD AND SHIRLEY DRIVE WATERMAIN PROJECT CONTRACT #9-24(W)” will be received from contractors by the City of Birmingham, at the office of the City Clerk, located at 151 Martin Street, Birmingham, Michigan, until 2:00 p.m. local time, on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024. The proposals will be opened and publicly read aloud at that time. Bids submitted after the exact time specified for receipt will not be considered.
The project will include installation of new combined sewers, storm sewers, water mains, underdrains, water and sanitary services, pavements, sidewalks, sidewalk ramps and driveway approaches on Arlington Road and Shirley Drive, between Lincoln Avenue and Maple Road. Approximate quantities are as follows: 1,076 linear feet of combined sewers, 2,984 linear feet of storm sewers; 5,747 linear feet of water mains, 23,367 square yards of new pavement, 1,654 square yards of new concrete driveway approaches, 3,067 square feet of new sidewalks, plus other work to make a complete project.
Bidders shall review and comply with all Contract Documents, and supplemental information, as defined in the Information For Bidders.
Bidding documents for this project must be obtained electronically through the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN), which may be accessed at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn. Vendors wishing to obtain copies of the bidding documents will need to register through the MITN website. Electronic versions of bidding documents will be posted to MITN starting Thursday May 2nd, 2024.
The successful bidder shall be required to post bonds, and to comply with the contract requirements of the City Charter. Bids are firm, and no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after opening of bids.
Procurement for the City of Birmingham will be handled in a manner providing fair opportunity for all businesses. This will be provided without abrogation or sacrifice of quality and as determined to be in the best interest of the City of Birmingham. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any irregularity in any of the bid proposals submitted, and to accept any proposal which it shall deem to be the most favorable to the interest of the City.
