Summary of Specifications:
Sealed proposals endorsed "Cape-seal Project 2007-2008/2008-2009" will be received at the office of the Public Services, 851 S. Eton Road, Birmingham, Michigan 48009, until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2008, after which time no further bids will be accepted. At this time, proposals received clearly marked "Cape-seal Project 2007-2008/2008-2009" will be publicly opened and read.
Proposals shall be received for the cape-seal project for major/local streets throughout the city of Birmingham. The total of which shall consist of approximately 61,030 curb feet (138,711 square yards) of residential streets, averaging 28 feet in width. Individual streets may be from 200 feet to over 3,000 feet in length. The city reserves the right to modify the size of the project to accommodate funds and approval of assessment district by the Birmingham City Commission. The project will be split into two phases. Phase one shall be started no sooner than May 15, 2008 and completed within 45 days of the project start. Phase two shall be started no sooner than August 15, 2008 and completed within 45 days of phase two project start.
The streets for Phases one and two of the project are indicated on a map that accompanies the bid documents. Contractors planning to submit bids shall be responsible for obtaining and/or reviewing this information prior to submission of the bid, and the city may reasonably assume that any bid submitted on this project is based on this information, whether or not this information has in fact been reviewed.
