Summary of Specifications:
The City of Birmingham, Michigan is interested in moving from its current tractor-feed, continuous-form stock method of printing accounts payable and payroll checks to a laser-print approach. A committee has been formed to identify the laser solution that will provide the cost, space and operating efficiencies that best meet the City’s needs in terms of reduced staffing levels combined with limited physical space constraints. Attached for your review and response, if applicable, is a Request for Information (RFI) to help the committee identify and evaluate vendors capable of providing: • Software solutions to create and print accounts payable checks, payroll checks, direct deposit notices and other forms/documents (e.g.,1099s, purchase orders, W2s, etc.) using our existing laser printers (HP8000DN and/or HP4200TN), and/or; • Software/hardware solutions to print MICR laser checks, forms and other documents using MICR-enhanced printer(s); • Required printers and supplies; • Compatible pressure-seal integrated folder/sealer mailers and/or other sorting/mailing equipment, if available; • On-site operator training.
