The Library is requesting qualifications and quotations from qualified professional contractors for all aspects of the renovation of the circulation and youth work areas of the Baldwin Public Library. These areas are on the main floor of the library and are adjacent to the public work desks in the Circulation Department and the Youth Department. The Baldwin Public Library is housed in a building owned by the City of Birmingham.
This renovation project will include the removal and replacement of current shelving and equipment, removal and replacement of carpet and wall paint and replacement with new furnishings and equipment as detailed in this document. Current furnishings will be reused where appropriate. A complete scope of work is included in this document. The specification for this project was developed by Library Design and Associates.
During the evaluation process, the Library reserves the right where it may serve the Library’s best interest to request additional information or clarification from firms, or to allow corrections of errors or omissions. At the discretion of the Library, firms submitting qualifications/quotes will be requested to make oral presentations as part of the evaluation.
It is anticipated the selection of a firm will be completed by May 21, 2007. An Agreement for services will be required with the selected Contractor. A copy of the Agreement is contained herein for reference. Contract services will commence upon execution of the service agreement by the Library.
