Summary of Specifications:
The Birmingham Principal Shopping District (PSD) plans to conduct consumer market research on behalf of the businesses in downtown Birmingham. In order to accomplish this goal, the PSD invites interested firms to submit a qualification package for review. Details and submission information are in the attached document. The consultant would work with the Executive Director and the PSD Executive Committee to implement and report this market study. The scope of work for the project would include, but would not necessarily be limited to: Define Birmingham’s consumer market trade area, broken down by retail segment. Also identify population and demographics, plus shopper habits and preferences through consumer surveys and data analysis. The market study and trade area report will be used for future advertising, promotion and new business recruitment efforts of the PSD. Interested parties should submit one electronic copy and one hard copy of the following information to the Birmingham PSD by May 25, 2012. 1. Name, address, and phone number of your firm. 2. Examples of similar projects your firm has completed, preferably in southeast Michigan or cities of similar characteristics to Birmingham. Include client contact names and phone numbers. 3. Names of persons who would complete the work. Include their experience and qualifications. 4. A timeline for completion of the project. 5. A brief summary about why your firm is qualified to conduct this marketing study. One page maximum, please. NOTE: This is not a request for proposals.
