Summary of Specifications:
NORTHLAWN DR. BRIDGE DECK REPLACEMENT CONTRACT #2-08(M) CITY OF BIRMINGHAM, MICHIGAN
Sealed proposals endorsed “Northlawn Dr. Bridge Deck Replacement, Contract #2-08(M)” will be received from contractors by the City of Birmingham, at the office of the City Clerk, located at 151 Martin Street, Birmingham, Michigan, until 2:00 p.m., on Monday, June 16, 2008. The proposals will be publicly read aloud at that time.
The project will replace the concrete deck and railing system for a steel supported bridge originally built in 1960 over the Rouge River within the City of Birmingham. In addition, approximately 320 l.ft. of asphalt approach roadway will be replaced as a safety improvement. Approximate quantities are as follows: 90 cyd. of superstructure concrete, 120 l.ft. of steel railing replacement, 550 l.ft. concrete curb and gutter, 200 tons of asphalt pavement, 140 l.ft. of guardrail, plus other work to make a complete project.
Plans and specifications for the project may be obtained from the City’s Engineering Department, (248) 644-3865, located on the second floor of City Hall, beginning Friday, May 30, 2008, for a non-refundable fee of $25.00 if picked up directly, or $35.00 if mailed. Payment shall be in the form of a check made payable to the City of Birmingham, which must be received prior to mailing of plans and specifications. Overnight delivery will be accommodated provided arrangements are made for the shipping cost to be paid through the purchaser’s account.
