Sealed proposals endorsed "CDBG Bid Proposal for Professional Architectural Design Services for ADA Improvements (Museum)," will be received at the City Clerk’s Office, 151 Martin, Birmingham, Michigan, until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2008, after which time no further bids will be accepted, and at which time the bids received will be publicly opened and read at the Birmingham Historical Museum & Park. Bidders will be required to attend a pre-bid meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Birmingham Historical Museum & Park’s Allen House, 556 West Maple, Birmingham, MI 48009. The Birmingham Historical Museum & Park of Birmingham (BHM&P), Michigan is accepting sealed bid proposals from qualified professional firms to perform architectural design services for the retrofit of a handicap accessible restroom and installation of a low energy door operator package for the BHM&P’s main entrance to the Allen House. The services include the preparation of all construction documents, specification and construction estimates. This program will be funded with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds; therefore, all CDBG program requirements will apply including compliance with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) Section 106 Review. The project is located at the Birmingham Historical Museum & Park, 556 W. Maple at the intersection of Southfield and Maple Road. All bid proposals will be evaluated ay a committee on a 100-point scale using the following criteria: Capability, experience, methodology, and cost. The criteria description is further explained on page 5 of this document.
