Summary of Specifications:
Sealed proposals endorsed “Rouge River Stream Bank Stabilization At Booth Park Round IX Part “B” RPO Project - Contract #9-09(M)” will be received from contractors by the City of Birmingham, at the office of the City Clerk, located at 151 Martin Street, Birmingham, Michigan, until 2:00 p.m., on Monday, August 3, 2009. The proposals will be publicly read aloud at that time. Bids submitted after the exact time specified for receipt will not be considered.
The project will consist of clearing and tree removal, installation of temporary and permanent soil erosion control measures, excavation and removal of approximately 600 CYD of soils from within the floodplain, installation of two (2) rock cross vanes and approximately 25 CYD of large rip-rap in the river channel, furnishing and installing compost, specialty seed mixes, and planting live stakes and shrubs within Booth Park in the City of Birmingham, plus other work to make a complete project.
Bidders shall review and comply with all Contract Documents, and supplemental information, as defined in the Information For Bidders.
Plans and specifications for the project may be obtained from the City’s Engineering Department, (248) 530-1840, located on the second floor of City Hall, beginning at noon on Monday, July 13, 2009, for a non-refundable fee of $40.00 if picked up directly, or $55.00 if mailed. Plans and specifications may also be mailed on disc in PDF format for $15.00. Payment shall be in the form of a check made payable to the City of Birmingham, which must be received prior to mailing of plans and specifications. Overnight delivery will be accommodated provided arrangements are made for the shipping cost to be paid through the purchaser’s account.
