Summary of Specifications:
The City of Cadillac (City) is requesting proposals from licensed and experienced engineering firms to design a new well field on an approved MDNRE site. The scope of this project includes complete design, bid and construction-phase engineering for a new municipal well field for the City of Cadillac. The new well field, known as the Crosby Road Well Field, will provide the majority of the water needed for the City of Cadillac. The new well field will include three wells with a total production capacity of 3,000 gallons per minute.
A new building will provide chemical feed and storage facilities. New transmission mains will convey water off site. New transmission mains on existing City streets will ensure that water will be adequately distributed.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION Total project consists of two new wells, three 1,000-gpm pumps, two Well houses, one building to house chemical feed and a well pump, and piping to reach existing water transmission mains. One existing test well which is already on the site will be converted to a production well. Project also includes new water transmission mains on Cherry Street and Cobbs Street. SCADA and radio system improvements to allow communication between the new and existing facilities will also be required.
Most of the project details have already been developed in conjunction with the Drinking Water Revolving Fund (DWRF) Project Plan which has been submitted to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment (MDNRE). A brief summary has been included with the Project Plan.
