Project Location:
The City of Dexter is located 7 miles west of Ann Arbor, Michigan in Washtenaw County. The City of Dexter is approximately 2 square miles. The work will take place throughout the City.
Permitted Activity and Scope of Work:
Placement of green road pavement markings related to bicycle lanes as outlined in the attached Pavement Marking Bid Items Form. Work must be complete in accordance with MDOT specifications Section 811 and 920, including application during temperatures appropriate for the drying of applied material. The vendor is responsible for, and must be experienced in traffic control. The vendor shall be responsible for the protection of “wet” applied material and shall not remove protections until the material is fully adhered and will not stick to or spray vehicles as they pass through the material.
City Council is expected to award the bid on April 14, 2025. The work shall be completed between April 15, 2025 – September 30, 2025.
Bicycle Lane Markings
Application of green paint identifying a bicycle lane to approximately 4,000 lineal lane feet along Central St. from Huron St. to 3255 Central St. (near Monument Park)
Application of green paint identifying a bicycle lane to approximately 7,600 lineal lane feet along Dexter-Ann Arbor Rd. from Carrington Dr. (City limits) to Kensington St.
Application of green paint identifying a bicycle lane to approximately 1,400 lineal lane feet along 3rd St. from Central St. to Broad St.
The paint should contain appropriate grit to prevent slipperiness for those travelling in the bicycle lane. Appropriate paint material options include: Ennis-Flint Inc., CycleGripMMAX, Pavement Surface Coatings LLC, Endurablend. The bicycle lane markings shall meet MDOT specifications for green bike lane pavement markings.
Contractor Requirements:
Contractors bidding must be qualified to complete the work as proposed. City staff will perform the inspection of the project.
