Description

Location: Various locations on major and local streets around the City of Dexter.

Scope: The City of Dexter is seeking a qualified contractor to apply approximately 10,000 lbs of overband crack seal to asphalt pavement on various streets throughout the City of Dexter. The work to be done under this Contract includes the furnishing of all materials, equipment, and labor necessary to complete the pavement maintenance identified in this invitation to bid, as well as all necessary traffic maintenance, cleaning and restoration in accordance with this scope of work and related specifications.

This bid requests proposals for a three-year pricing, and prospective vendors providing three-year pricing will be preferred.

Cost Breakdown Information for Bidding: The costs associated with mobilization and traffic control/maintenance shall be included in the price per pound for the overbanding.

Additional Bid Information:

Crack Treatment specifications laid out in the MDOT Construction Manual: Sect. 502 (Appendix A document included with this Bid Form)
The work may begin following City Council approval, unless otherwise agreed upon that delivery and bid pricing shall begin sooner.
Bidders shall itemize any required deposit, surcharges, or delivery fees. Any surcharges or fees not detailed in the bid will not be paid.
Service schedule (dates and times) shall be coordinated between the City and the approved vendor(s).
Contractors bidding must be qualified to complete the work as proposed.
Three references from clients similar to the City of Dexter are required, such as governments, health care, or financial businesses.
Work will be coordinated with the applicable City departments and/or City engineers in order to conduct inspections and oversee the work being conducted on City roads.
Work must be completed by June 30, 2025.

Bid Submission Instructions: Bids must be submitted to the City of Dexter, 3515 Broad St., Dexter, MI 48130 by Friday, April 18th, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Bids must be submitted physically or by mail, in a sealed envelope, marked on the outside with the bidder’s name, address, and “City of Dexter Overband Crack Seal Road Maintenance Program”.
