Summary of Specifications:
The work included under this specification generally consists of removing existing deteriorated pavement, shaping and preparing the subgrade; placing porous subbase material and perforated edge drain where required; placing a dense graded, plant-mix bituminous base course(s); applying a bond coat to the bituminous base course(s); and placing a plant-mix bituminous concrete surface course. Asphaltic concrete surface courses, asphaltic base course, and related work, as designated, shall meet the requirements as specified in the current Standard Specifications or Highway Construction adopted by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). For purposes of these specifications, the words "asphaltic" and "bituminous", and comparable variations of such words, will be considered to be interchangeable. Further, the titles inspector, DPW Supervisor and Engineer are also interchangeable
