2019 LEAD WATER SERVICE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
The City of Garden City is accepting proposals for the
2019 Lead Water Service Replacement Program
in the City of Garden City, Wayne County, Michigan
This project involves the replacement of 71 known lead water services to be in compliance with the new Lead and Copper Rules established by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) in June 2018. In addition, this program also requests costs for the replacement of lead water services encountered until December 31, 2021. The anticipated start date of the 71 water service lead replacements, weather permitting, is October 28, 2019 and completed by December 23, 2019.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the City of Garden City Clerk’s Office, Hennessey Engineers, Inc., Southgate, Michigan, Construction Association of Michigan, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Construction Journal LTD, Stuart, Florida and CDC News Construction Journal, Vero Beach, Florida
Contract Documents will be available starting Wednesday, September 18, 2019 after 1:00pm and may be purchased at: Hennessey Engineers, Inc., 13500 Reeck Road, Southgate, Michigan, 48195 upon payment of a fee of $25.00 per set, $35.00 if mailed, which is nonrefundable. Cash and check only accepted. Also, plans are now available on CD for a fee of $15.00 per CD or if mailed, $25.00.
Bidders must deposit, with their bid, surety in the form of a certified check, bank draft, or bid bond, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any information or to reject any and/or all bids. Bidders may not withdraw their bid within 60 days after the date of bid opened. The Contractor shall be aware that per the City of Garden City Ordinance No. 91-001, no less than the prevailing salaries and wages noted in the General Wage Decision (Federal Wage Determination) shall be paid on this Project.
