GARDEN CITY, WAYNE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
2025-2026 SIDEWALK GRANT PROJECT

The project is NOT subject to prevailing wages. The two-year project consists of constructing sidewalks at various locations throughout Garden City (see attached map). The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is June 1, 2025 and completed by November 30, 2026.

Note that a minimum of half of the project must be completed by November 30, 2025. The contractor will not be permitted to perform 100% of the contract work in just the 2026 construction season.

SEALED BIDS will be accepted at the Office of the City Clerk, 6000 Middlebelt, Garden City, MI 48135. Bid must be clearly labeled “2024-2025 SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROGRAM”

Two (2) copies of the bid proposals shall be submitted to:

Bids shall be publicly opened and read.

The deadline for Request for Information (RFI) is Thursday, April 17, 2025, 10 a.m. EST.

Contract Documents can be downloaded directly from BidNet.
Bidders must deposit, with their bid, surety in the form of a certified check, bank draft, or bid bond, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal. Bidders may not withdraw their bid within 60 days after the date of bid opened. Note that the low bid contractor is not automatically awarded the project. The OWNER reserves the right to reject all bids or award the project to the most qualified bidder. The OWNER and ENGINEER will further assess the bids based on the following criteria.
1. COST EFFECTIVENESS
2. PAST PROJECT EXPERIENCE
3. ABILITY TO COMPLETE PROJECT WITHIN TIMEFRAME
