The 2022-2024 DWRF Watermain Replacement Program consists of 4 Projects. Projects 1 is the base bid with projects 2, 3, and 4 additional bid projects, projects selected to be constructed will be selected after bids are opened. Projects 1 and 2 are to be constructed in 2022, Project 3 to be constructed in 2023, and Project 4 to be constructed in 2024. These will be bid all as one package under 1 contract, with plans for each project and one overall spec book. Award will be made to the lowest Contract Total (Total cost of Projects 1-4).
Project 1 - 2022 DWRF CANIFF STREET WATERMAIN – BASE BID The proposed project consists of approximately 2,110 linear feet of 12” pipe bursting of an existing 10” water main, 1,620 linear feet of 8” directional drilling of a new water main along Caniff Street, between Joseph Campau and Buffalo Street, and 26 linear feet of a 10” water main from Caniff north along Ellery to a cap for future connection within the City of Hamtramck. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is no later than June 6, 2022, and substantially completed by July 15, 2022, with final completion by July 30, 2022.
Project 2 - 2022 DWRF DAN STREET WATERMAIN The proposed project consists of the replacement of approximately 350 linear feet of 10” water main (mainly via pipe bursting), along with the addition of roughly 752 linear feet of 10” water main along Dan Street from Joseph Campau east into Veterans Park via directional drill, within the City of Hamtramck. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is no later than June 6, 2022, and substantially completed by August 15, 2022, with final completion by August 30, 2022.
Project 3 - 2022 PRESCOTT STREET WATERMAIN (2023 Construction Year) The proposed project consists of approximately 920 linear feet of 10” pipe bursting of an existing 8” water main along Prescott Street from Conant Street to Ellery Street, and the installation of new water main consisting of approximately 300 linear feet of 10” pipe via directional drill along Ellery from Prescott to Caniff Street within the City of Hamtramck. The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is no later than April 15, 2023, and substantially completed by June 15, 2023, with final completion by June 30, 2023.
Project 4 - 2022 DWRF JOSEPH CAMPAU STREET WATERMAIN LOOP (2024 Construction Year) The proposed project consists of the construction of approximately 227 linear feet of 24” water main, via open cut, along Joseph Campau and Denton (West) heading south to Denton (East), and the installation of a new 12” water main from the proposed 24” water main in Joseph Campau and heading East for approximately 485 linear feet, within the City of Hamtramck.
The anticipated start date for Projects 1 and 2, weather permitting, is no later than July 15, 2022, and substantially completed by December 15, 2022, with final completion by December 30, 2022. Project 3 anticipated start date, weather permitting, is April 15, 2023, and substantially completed by August 15, 2023, with final completion by August 30, 2023. Project 4 anticipated start date, weather permitting, is April 15, 2024, and substantially completed by August 15, 2024, with final completion by August 30, 2024.
There will be an optional Pre-Bid meeting on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm (EST). This meeting will be held virtually.
