2024 LEAD WATER SERVICE LINE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
The proposed project consists of the installation of approximately 170 full lead water service line replacements. The scope of this project is to install new one (1), one and a half (1 ½), or two (2) inch Type K copper service lines from the water main to a minimum of 18 inches inside the building per EGLE lead and copper rule along 4 road section locations over a 1-year period. The anticipated start date, weather permitting for the 2024 season is no later than April 15, 2024, and fully completed by September 15, 2024.
SEALED BIDS will be accepted At the offices of the City Clerk: City of Hamtramck, 3401 Evaline Street, Hamtramck, MI 48212. Bid must be clearly labeled “2024 Lead Water Service Line Replacement Program”
Two (2) Copies of the bid proposal shall be submitted to:

Deadline: Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. (local time)
Bids shall be publicly opened and read on: Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (local time)
All RFI’s shall be submitted via the google link https://forms.gle/FSencAHKMSgAToVr6 (No calls or emails will be accepted)
The deadline for Request for Information (RFI) is Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 10 a.m. (local time)
Contract Documents will be available for download starting Friday, February 23, 2024, after 10:00 am and may be downloaded from https://forms.gle/DxGytAnPzHVwfF7Q6
A download of the Contract Documents from the link above places you on the Approved bidder’s list.
The Owner and Engineer will further assess the bids based on the following criteria.
- COST EFFECTIVENESS
- SIMILAR PAST PROJECT EXPERIENCE
- ABILITY TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT WITHIN TIMEFRAME
The following items are required for a complete bid submittal:
- 5% BID BOND
- COMPLETED ITEMIZED BID SHEET
- COMPLETED AND SIGNED EXHIBIT ‘A’ PROPOSAL
- (3) PROJECT REFERENCES WITH SIMILAR SCOPE
Bidders must deposit, with their bid, surety in the form of a certified check, bank draft, or bid bond, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposal. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any information or to reject any and/or all bids. Bidders may not withdraw their bid within 90 days after the date of bid opened.
