Summary of Specifications:
TASK I - SOIL AND TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEYS
The consultant shall collect all soil and topographic information necessary to design the project and prepare plans, specifications and estimates according to MDOT requirements. All soil testing shall conform to MDOT and ASTM standards. A report of soil borings and test results shall be prepared by the consultant and submitted to the City prior to the initiation of any design work. Survey shall be conducted and entered into Autocad files in accordance with City of Jackson standards. Surveys shall be tied to USGS monuments as well as to other monuments in the general area.
TASK II - DESIGN OF ROADWAY
The consultant shall design the roadway to comply with all MDOT and governing agencies standards and requirements. Preliminary designs shall be prepared by the consultant and submitted to the City for review and comment prior to the finalization of any plan documents. Plans shall be completed to allow for a letting in March 2018. All final plans shall be prepared using AutoCad according to City drafting standards and shall comply with MDOT requirements. Items shall be prepared according to City and MDOT requirements. The consultant shall submit the project plans, specifications and engineering cost estimates to the City for review prior to submittal to MDOT. The consultant will attend all meetings and prepare specification and drawing changes to meet City requirements and submit to MDOT all necessary information needed to provide the Owner with a complete project ready to use.
TASK III DESIGN OF TRAILS
The consultant shall design the trails to comply with all MDNR, AASHTO Guide for the Development of Bicycle Facilities and governing agencies standards and requirements. Preliminary designs shall be prepared by the consultant and submitted to the City for review and comment prior to the finalization of any plan documents. The construction of the trail shown in fig. B shall be completed by October 28, 2016. The route planning shown in fig. A shall be completed by September 30, 2016. Plans shall be completed for the trail shown in fig. C by December 16, 2016. All final plans shall be prepared using AutoCad according to City drafting standards and shall comply with MDNR requirements. Items shall be prepared according to City and MDOT requirements. The consultant shall submit the project plans, specifications and engineering cost estimates to the City for review prior to submittal to MDNR. The consultant will attend all meetings and prepare specification and drawing changes to meet City requirements and submit to MDNR all necessary information needed to provide the Owner with a complete project ready to use.
TASK IV CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING
The consultant shall provide Project Engineering staff and services to include engineering supervision, construction inspection, construction surveying and layout, materials testing and plant inspection. Services will be provided to handle all aspects of the project, both field and office related. All testing and inspection shall be performed by certified technicians as required by MDOT. The consultant shall maintain the official documentation files in accordance with MDOT's requirements for Federal Aid Projects. The consultant shall be responsible for assuring that the final product meets all specification requirements.
TASK V PREPARE AS-BUILT PLANS
The consultant shall prepare as-built plans showing the final configuration of the project as it was constructed. The consultant will provide the as-built plans in accordance with City Standards on CD-ROM and original mylars.
