Portable paper shredding / secure document shredding services for the annual Paper Shredding / Tire Collection day to be held in the Department of Public Works yard, 12973 Farmington Rd., Livonia, MI. on September 14, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The 2021 event serviced 441 vehicles, and produced 20,480 pounds of material. The 2022 event serviced 409 cars generating 18,000 pounds of material. The 2023 event services 368 cars generating 13,700 pounds of material. Please base your amounts on 450 cars, and 21,000 pounds of material produced.
The event takes place in the DPW yard. Residents use the service by driving vehicles into the yard, and moving material to be shredding from their vehicle. The resident has the option to view the shredding of their documents while it occurs. DPW staff is availble to help coordinate traffic flow, checking ID's, and aiding with the event.
The City's solid waste contractor has a packer truck available to take care of generated cardboard.
City services runs an independent tire collection, and will manage the produced cardboard boxes that are generated from the drop-off.
This event starts SHARPLY at 8 am. Cars will begin lining up earlier than 7:30 am.
