Summary of Specifications:
Sealed proposals for the construction of the: 2017 CONCRETE PAVING PROGRAM will be received by the City Clerk-Treasurer’s Office in the City Hall at 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161, until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Monday the 27th day of February, 20 17. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud by the City Clerk at 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, the same day, in the City Council Chambers. MAJOR QUANTITIES INCLUDE: Remove & Dispose Pavement & Approach 24,002.4 SYD Subgrade Manipulation 20,915.1 SYD Furnish & Install 8” Concrete Pavement w/Integral Curb 16,644.3 SYD Furnish & Install 9” Concrete Pavement w/Integral Curb 3,111.1 SYD (Total of all 7 geographic work locations) The Proposal and Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be obtained from the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) at http://www.mitn.info. Bidders desiring a hard copy of these documents may obtain them from the Department of Engineering, 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161 by making a deposit of SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($ 75.00 ) for each set of plans and specifications. IF PLANS ARE TO BE MAILED, ADD TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00). No refunds will be issued for the return of any plans and specifications. The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals. A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be deposited by each bidder with his bid. Bidders shall note that Prevailing Wage provisions apply to this contract, and are contained within Division J of the contract. This contract consists of work in seven (7) geographic locations, with a final completion date of August 31, 2017 for all work. Bidders shall note specific time restrictions will apply to work on the West Lorain Street portion of the project, as no work will be allowed until school has recessed for the summer.
