Sealed proposals for the construction of:
2019 BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
will be received by the City Clerk-Treasurer’s Office in the City Hall at 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161, until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Monday the 12th day of August, 20 19. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud by the City Clerk at 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, the same day, in the City Council Chambers.
The Proposal and Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be obtained from the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) / Bid Net Direct at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn. Bidders desiring a hard copy of these documents may obtain them from the Department of Engineering, 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161 by making a deposit of THIRTY DOLLARS ($ 30.00 ) for each set of plans and specifications. IF PLANS ARE TO BE MAILED, ADD FIFTEEN DOLLARS ($15.00). No refunds will be issued for the return of any plans and specifications.
The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals. A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be deposited by each bidder with his / her bid.
This project consists of crack sealing on bituminous roadways and spray patching of both bituminous and concrete roadways. The City has not determined the exact quantities necessary to complete all designated roadways, but will be bidding a total plan quantity for each, with work to be undertaken in priority order on the streets list contained in the contract documents until the designated quantity is exhausted. Further elaboration of quantities, potential adjustments, and award to contractors can be found in the Supplemental Specifications of the contract documents.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within SIXTY (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, but may withdraw it at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipts of bids.
