ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals for the construction of:
2019 UNDERGROUND UTILITY AND RESURFACING PROGRAM
will be received by the City Clerk-Treasurer’s Office in the City Hall at 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161, until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Monday the 11th day of March, 20 19. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud by the City Clerk at 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, the same day, in the City Council Chambers.
The Proposal and Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be obtained from the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) / Bid Net Direct at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn. Bidders desiring a hard copy of these documents may obtain them from the Department of Engineering, 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161 by making a deposit of TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($ 200.00 ) for each set of plans and specifications. IF PLANS ARE TO BE MAILED, ADD FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00). No refunds will be issued for the return of any plans and specifications.
The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals. A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be deposited by each bidder with his / her bid.
This contract includes water main and / or resurfacing work in five (5) geographic locations within the City of Monroe, along with sanitary sewer relocation in one location. The City reserves the right to award a single contract for all work, or to award any combination of locations to any one bidder in its sole best interest.
Bidders shall note that Prevailing Wage provisions apply to the project and are contained within Division J of the contract.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within SIXTY (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, but may withdraw it at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipts of bids.
