Sealed proposals for the construction of: LA-Z-BOY SITE REDEVELOPMENT – PHASE 1A INFRASTRUCTURE will be received, through electronic submission to the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Thursday the 21st day of May, 2020. The bids will be publicly unlocked from the MITN web site with bid total and other pertinent information read aloud at 11:00 A.M. the same day via Zoom teleconference. Bidders desiring to attend this opening should email edward.sell@monroemi.gov no later than Friday, May 15 to be emailed the meeting link. This contract shall consist of the installation of public infrastructure necessary to support redevelopment of the former La-Z-Boy World Headquarters, including earthwork, roadway work, underground utilities, detention pond construction and other related activities. The demolition of the existing above-ground structures will be completed under a separate contract that has been previously awarded.
The Proposal and Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be obtained from the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) / Bid Net Direct at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn. Any questions on this contract / bid documents should be asked on the MITN site no later than May 11, to provide adequate time for preparation of an Addendum, if necessary.
Bidders should note that City offices are presently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 outbreak through at least May 18, therefore bidders should expect that any other necessary correspondence must be via email. The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals. A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be posted by each bidder with his / her bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid within SIXTY (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, but may withdraw it at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipts of bids.
