Summary of Specifications:
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed proposals for the construction of: OZONE SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS - MONROE WATER TREATMENT PLANT will be received by the City Clerk-Treasurer in the City Hall at 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161, until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Tuesday the 17th day of December, 20 13. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud by the City Clerk at 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, the same day, in the City Clerk-Treasurer's Office. The Proposal and Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, are on file and may be examined at the office of the City Engineer, 120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161, beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 22, 2013. Copies thereof can be obtained from the Engineering Department of the City of Monroe by making a deposit of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($ 100.00 ) for each set of plans and specifications. IF PLANS ARE TO BE MAILED, ADD TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00). FIFTY dollars ($ 50.00 ) will be refunded for each set of documents returned in good condition (unmarked) within thirty (30) days after the bidding date. The full amount of the deposit will be refunded to each bidder for only the one set of documents upon which a bona fide proposal is submitted to the Owner. This project includes the furnishing and installation of all labor, equipment, materials, appurtenances, and incidentals required for the demolition and reconstruction of the Ozone Building. The modifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Removal of all process, mechanical and electrical and instrumentation equipment. (Equipment to be salvaged and reinstalled is to be removed and properly stored on site at a location designated by the Owner). 2. Removal of a section of settled water piping within the existing filter gallery. 3. Demolition of the Ozone building superstructure to the limits indicated. 4. Reconstruction of the structure. 5. Reinstallation of salvaged and stored equipment. 6. Installation of new equipment and systems. 7. Selective demolition and associated architectural, structural and electrical work. The Owner will pre-purchase one new Ozone System from an Ozone System Supplier (OSS). The Contractor shall install the new Ozone System components, reinstall the existing ozone unit, and provide a systems integrator to connect both to the existing SCADA system.
